PSC Portal Systems Consulting GmbH was founded by André Hoseas in Hamburg in 2001. Right from the start, the company’s main focus has been on services related to ECM (Enterprise Content Management). When the second shareholder, Frank von Orlikowski, joined the company in 2003, the long-time partnership with d.velop AG was established. Ultimately, in the following year, the Portal Systems branch in Potsdam was founded and the product range was extended to Microsoft SharePoint.
Strong partnerships and expansion of the SharePoint business
In 2006, Portal Systems extended its strategic partnership with d.velop to the SharePoint environment. This resulted in the first entirely in-house software development at the end of 2007 — ecspand contract management. In the following period, Portal Systems managed to gain a number of well-known companies as customers in a relatively short time.
Transformation from a systems house to a product manufacturer
Starting the development of the “Business Application Framework” for SharePoint (since September 2017: “Shareflex”), Portal Systems entered a new chapter in its corporate history in early 2013. Individual SharePoint applications can be created, managed and maintained quickly and easily with this in-house development. This important milestone marked the establishment of Portal Systems as a fully-fledged product manufacturer on the market. In order to further strengthen its own positioning, the previously independent companies in Hamburg and Potsdam were finally merged in 2014.
And the journey continues…
The expansion of our partner network to market Shareflex, our platform for business applications, and the solutions based on it, is one of our current and future priorities. Since the first partner agreement was signed with Henrichsen AG, the market-leading Southern German ECM provider, in 2015, a number of further partnerships with renowned system houses have been established.
In 2018 Portal Systems became Microsoft Gold Partner “Collaboration and Content” and “Application Development”. Thus, with our own product family “Shareflex Classic” for SharePoint 2016 and 2019 as well as “Shareflex Online” for SharePoint Online and Microsoft Office 365, Portal Systems is optimally positioned on the market as an ECM provider.
The transformation of Portal Systems into an incorporated company (AG)
A further milestone in our history was the transformation into Portal Systems AG on November 15, 2018. With this step, we made sure that the company is perfectly prepared for the future and can continue its growth course.
Appropriate measures and structures had already been taken in the run-up to the conversion into an AG. These include, for example, the clear definition of business units and the establishment of a reporting and controlling system.
In addition to the increase in equity capital, the regular certification of our product development, the introduction of an internal QM system in accordance with ISO 9001 and the establishment and expansion of our partner sales, all serve the aspects of “growth” and “future security”.
