October 5, 2020 — Press release on the admission of Portal Systems AG to the Microsoft Content Services Partner Program:

Strategic cooperation for the creation of innovative, cloud-based ECM solutions

At the beginning of October 2020, Portal Systems AG was one of the first companies in the DACH region to become a charter member of the “Microsoft 365 Content Services Partner Program” (CSPP). The Hamburg-based Microsoft Gold Partner specialises in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint (Online). With Shareflex ECM Online and the Shareflex product family, Portal System provides solutions for Enterprise Content Management and Document Management (ECM/DMS) as well as ready-made, preconfigured business applications.

Microsoft only accepts partners into the programme, who focus on the subject areas ECM/DMS and AI in the context of Microsoft 365. To be admitted, they also have to offer services and solutions in this environment.

“Being a Charter Member in the Microsoft Content Services Partner Program, allows us to further intensify our strategic cooperation with Microsoft. Within the framework of this cooperation, we gain early insights into Microsoft’s product development. This enables us to optimally integrate Shareflex into Microsoft 365 Content Services,” Frank von Orlikowski, CEO of Portal Systems AG, describes the forthcoming cooperation.

Microsoft 365 Content Services – what exactly is that?

The Microsoft 365 Content Services are part of the Microsoft 365 platform. They provide functions and tools for document management, for the automation of tasks and processes, services for artificial intelligence (AI) as well as compliance and security for the IT infrastructure. Office 365 users already know many of these functions from Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint Online. Compared to classical ECM systems, Microsoft 365 Content Services offer much better compliance, at significantly lower costs. This makes them a modern alternative to conventional, mostly on-premises operated ECM systems.

Shareflex works “hand in hand” with Microsoft Office 365

Shareflex ECM Online complements the “Microsoft 365 Content Services”. This leads to holistic business applications with a high demand on usability and operability. Shareflex-based business applications are used within departments or company-wide. They are quickly implemented and can be adapted to the respective individual requirements at any time. These business applications consist of various ready-made and configurable functions and tools, which are provided according to the functional scope of the application. These include, for example, forms and files, document management functions or workflows.

“Within the framework of the Microsoft 365 Content Services partnership, we work hand in hand with Microsoft. This enables us to quickly align our product strategy with current developments,” explains Marcel Meier, product manager at Portal Systems AG. “Together with my team, I make sure that the functionalities complement each other optimally. So that with Shareflex we can concentrate on delivering all the functions and tools needed for user-friendly business applications. I’d also like to point out that, when using Shareflex solutions, new Microsoft 365 functions are immediately available to all Shareflex customers. This is currently the case with the SharePoint Syntex product, for example”.

Shareflex ECM Online: Modern Enterprise Content Management with Microsoft 365

Microsoft revolutionises the ECM market with the Microsoft 365 Content Services. Microsoft 365 is already in strategic use at many thousands of companies. These include small and medium-sized businesses as well as large DAX-listed corporations. And the market share is growing steadily. Shareflex ECM Online consistently relies on Microsoft 365. Thus, it benefits directly from the ongoing development of Microsoft products and the enormous innovative power of the Redmond-based company. The result is a modern, holistic, cloud-based ECM solution, which comes at significantly lower costs than a classical ECM system.
